SBR
SBR rubber sheeting
SBR rubber is a universal rubber used in construction, shipping, industry and car manufacturing. SBR rubber can also be used for a variety of other applications by cutting it into strips, joints or rings. SBR stands for Styrene Butadiene Rubber. SBR rubber is therefore a copolymer of butadiene and styrene, i.e. an artificial rubber. It is often used instead of natural rubber for its advantageous properties and price.

Sponge Rubber Strips: The Perfect Sealing and Insulation Solution
Unlike solid rubber, sponge rubber is highly resilient, flexible, and easily compressible. This makes it an excellent material for sealing irregular surfaces, filling gaps, and creating watertight and airtight seals for window frames. Our sponge rubber strips, also known as cellular or mousse rubber, are available in various thicknesses from 1 to 20 mm, ensuring you always find the perfect sealing or insulation solution.
Types of Sponge Rubber
We supply cellular rubber in EPDM, CR (Neoprene), and NBR (Nitrile), all featuring a self-adhesive backing.
-
EPDM Sponge Rubber
Water- and weather-resistant, ideal for outdoor use. It also offers excellent resistance to ageing, ozone, UV radiation, and certain acids and alkalis. -
Neoprene (CR) Sponge Rubber
A versatile rubber with broad resistance to oils, greases, and heat. It is weather-, ozone-, and heat-resistant but has poor flexibility in cold conditions. -
Nitrile (NBR) Sponge Rubber
Highly resistant to oils, greases, water, hydrocarbons, and diluted acids, with good mechanical properties. However, it has only moderate weather, ozone, and UV resistance.
Applications of Sponge Rubber Strips
- Sealing
- Thermal and sound insulation
Benefits of Sponge Rubber
- Resistant to ageing and moisture
- Weather-resistant
- Provides excellent sealing and insulation
- Abrasion-resistant
- Flexible and resilient
- Remains elastic, even at low and high temperatures
