Nitrile (NBR)
Nitrile (NBR) rubber sheeting
Premium Nitrile Rubber (NBR) is a very high quality rubber with good resistance to oils and good mechanical properties, including tensile strength, material bending, compression and low gas permeability. Nitrile premium sheet is resistant to petrol, diesel and lubricants. However, premium Nitrile (NBR) is not resistant to bio-diesel, bio-fuel or bio-lubricants. It also has moderate ageing properties.

Nitrile NBR Rubber sheeting
NBR rubber, also known as Nitrile rubber, is ideal for use with oils, greases, lubricants, hydrocarbons, and a variety of diluted acids. This Nitrile rubber is resistant to water, oil, paraffin, propane gas, and greases. However, it is not recommended for intensive use with petrol. This NBR sheet has moderate resistance to weathering, ozone, and UV, with a temperature range of -20°C to +80°C. Nitrile is commonly used in the chemical industry, automotive garages, the petroleum industry, and more.
Properties of Nitrile Rubber
Nitrile rubber (NBR) is a synthetic material with exceptional properties, making it ideal for a wide range of industrial applications. It is resistant to wear and heat and can be used in high-temperature environments. NBR is also highly elastic and resilient, capable of withstanding high pressure without deforming or breaking, making it perfect for applications requiring superior sealing and durability.
- Excellent resistance to oils and greases
- Maximum temperature +50°C for water, alkaline solutions, non-oxidising acids, and alcohols
- Maximum temperature +20°C for acetone
- Good resistance to acids, salts, and bases
- Excellent resistance to hydrocarbons (aromatic content ≤30%, max temperature +20°C)
- Good mechanical properties
- High elasticity allows for large deformations
- Easy-to-handle material
- Moderate resistance to weathering, ozone, and UV
- Temperature range: -30°C to 110°C
- Excellent value for money
In summary, Nitrile rubber (NBR) is an optimal choice for many industrial applications that demand heat resistance, chemical resistance, solvent resistance, ozone resistance, as well as superior durability and flexibility.
Applications of Nitrile Rubber
- Petrochemical industry
- Sealing gaskets
- Cutting of gaskets and washers
- Industrial use in contact with mineral oils and hydrocarbons
- Manufacturing of sleeves and flaps
Nitrile rubber is widely used in the oil and chemical industries for the production of sealing gaskets and protection slaps. Additionally, it is commonly used in the automotive industry for head gaskets, carburettor gaskets, and oil pump seals.
